I think Robert Smith wanted to be famous or wanted to be a rock star because the trappings of rock starter means fame and more ears and eyes on you. But I don't I don't think he really wanted to deal with fame. The thing that Robert Smith seems to hate the most is fakeness. And it was just the fake Olympics when you're even a little bit of fame, let alone what happens later.
