The Tax Advantage of Superannuation
There are tax advantages to wealthy people who would save anyway. I think that's the reason superannuation is sticking around. The bottom 30% of earners were going to be on the age pension, essentially get no benefits anyways. You've also got that $36 billion a year of fees Pareto all these companies who pay themselves bonuses. And they don't want to just give people their money back and go home and find a new job.
