Comedy seems to be used by people to conduct this sort of culture war, whatever it is that we want to be called. I think the issue is about people speaking on behalf of others who they often don't know. The idea you could tell what a lot of comics are even like isn't down to being able to sit in a dressing room with them. You're not the same person that was just sitting next to me moments ago. It's very dangerous to try and guess what other people would do or say.
