The Unpopularity of Urban Freeways

The federal highway act of 1973 signed by another than a none other than Richard Nixon recognized how unpopular these urban freeways were. The Southwest Corridor would rise again as this five track rail corridor, two tracks for a new relocated orange line and three for what is now Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. And it would also feature a linear park.
