A lot of the stuff we do now is on crabs. And then you prepare their stemati gastric nervous system, which means you dissect it out right. The reason you like that preparation is because it has a round 30 nerons. Each neuron can be individually identified on the basis of its projection to the muscles of the stomach. It's the ease of identification and the ease of being able to record from all of them simultaneously that makes it such an ideal ration.
