In Britain, communism's promise of equality and justice appealed to some young people who were disillusioned with their own political system. Many in the British establishment saw communism as a deadly threat. The British Fashisti Party was founded by a wealthy, radical, anti-communist and alcoholic called Rother-Linton-Aorman. As her party's Italian age name suggests, she was inspired by Benito Mussolini.
