The Name Change of Joshua

Joshua is described for us in verse one as Joshua the son of none. In Numbers 13, 16 we find this account of Moses changing Joshua's name from Hosea to Joshua which means Yahweh is salvation. So it's almost as if Moses himself is anticipating some sort of typological correspondence between what Joshua was going to do and ultimately what the Messiah is going to do for Israel on the last day.
