It means documentation and code can be versioned and kept up to date with each other in much better ways than would otherwise be the case. Sometimes things need to be re deployed in parallel, such as when we have redundant instances that have had a configuration change applied. Most of the tooling for this is entirely custom built because it's for very custom purposes. We always try to avoid changes to existing servers or services. So er to aim for immutable, infera structures where if something needs to be changed,. A new instance will be provisioned, launched, sanity tested before the old one is killed off
