Is Every One Has Three Marriages, Even if It's to the Same Person?

The average duration of a marriage in the united states to day, is longer than it was in colonial time because people didn't live as long. And women died in childbirth, exactly. Divorce could be called a replacement for death. I mean, that's a cynical way of putting it. But point is, we think of marriage as as a relationship between two mature people who love each other and settle in to constancy and continuity. In fact, those two people are growing and changing all the time. Ah, and much as much as we would like the constancy, it's actually quite a challenge.
