Can planting trees really stop climate change? | Thomas Crowther

The TED Interview

CHAPTER

The Contribution to Climate Change

If we could protect all those areas and allow those trees to recover, there'd be about a trillion new trees er. Within that forested land, if the whole eco systems were to over they'd be able to capture in the order of about 200 gige tons of carbon - which is quite a staggering number. But i think the reason it captured every one's imagination so much is that this contribution to climate change isn't just about carbon capture. It's one that also comes with the benefits of bia diversity and human well being around the world.
