Two conservative law professors recently wrote that Donald Trump should be disqualified from serving his president ever again under the US Constitution's 14th Amendment. What is the 14th Amendment? And why does it matter in American elections? The 14th Amendment was a constitutional amendment that was passed after the US Civil War. It prohibited anyone from being a senator, a representative from Congress or a lector of president or vice president if they engaged in an insurrection against the United States.
