There is an important moral difference, even if both sides are fighting in unfair ways, as ta war is going on. The parties are beginning to realize that the primaries are broken. So should we be rethinking the 50 year experiment and primary elections? I mean, it's definitely thing worth considering, though. Like m in the iofa caucus. God, love that tradition.

Sam Koppelman is a Democratic strategist who served as director of surrogate speechwriting on the Biden campaign. He is the author, with former Attorney General Eric Holder, of Our Unfinished March: The Violent Past and Imperiled Future of the Vote—a History, a Crisis, a Plan.
