The Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy

In magic circles we rely a lot on thing called the texas sharpshooter fallacy. Instead of drawing a bull's eye and then firing right in the middle, you shoot first and then decide where the target was. If i was terry, if i was worried about being in trouble for getting answers from somebody in the audience, i would be very, very tempted to construct a very air tight story. All we have are the conflicting words of three potential co conspirators. Which of these sounds the most true for you?
