The following year in 1991 Kylie changed her image even more by chopping her permed hair into this cute little pixie cart. The music video that we've been talking about has also been credited with reinventing her image from Girl Next Door to Sex Symbol. This era for Kylie and this music was really important in kind of imbuing her brand with legitimacy as academic Lee Barron wrote the shift reflected a growing sense of critical legitimacy regarding her image whereby she transcended appearing exclusively in pop music magazines.
