The Rise and Fall of Vivint
Vivint, founded by Todd Peterson under the name of APX, was simply a door-to-door sales company. In 2017, after receiving over a thousand complaints from customers about Vivint's salespeople misleading them with false statements and promises to make them switch, ADT decided to sue Vivint for $10 million. The two companies have battled it out in court multiple times over Vivint misleading and stealing ADT customers.
