The Crusade of William the Conqueror
Earl Gosspatrick was one of the main figures that had organized the noble involvement in this rebellion. He sent a messenger to William and promised his submission to the conqueror. Earl Walthioff traveled down to York personally, likely passing through the smoking burned out wasteland that was once Northumbria. But as nice as all these little odes of fealty were, William wasn't about to change course.
