Algorithm is a word that today we associate specifically with the world of computer science. It's really just a series of steps that you follow to solve a problem or make a decision. Mathematical procedures have been found on clay tablets dating back thousands of years. In many ways they are not only older than the computer, but they are some of the first and oldest technology, if you will, of the human race.
