I've been teaching since the early 80s. You know, used to as a professor walk into the classroom,. We have this kind of buzz excitement energy of all the students talking to each other. Now I walk in and no one's talking to anyone. They're just on their phones. Yeah. And I think that that's that's a problem at the university level. It's a bigger problem at high schools because a lot of high schools kids are allowed to have their phones during the day. So then there are distraction in the classroom and then you go into a high school lunchroom and it's early quiet because they're all on their phones instead of talking to eachother. That

Twenge, PhD, a professor of psychology at San Diego State University, is the author of more than a hundred scientific publications and several books based on her research, including Generations, iGen, and Generation Me. She has also been featured on Today, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, CBS This Morning, and NPR. She lives in San Diego with her husband and three daughters.
