Is There a Meaningful Progression in Genesis 17?
In Genesis 17, the promise that has been given in general begins to become specific. There are new elements introduced with regard to Abram's name change from Abram to Abraham. It seems that it just reiterates the promise of seed and lots of people coming from him.
