Is There a Better State Than Science?

There's a state which is awesome, very powerful inter of what it can do, but it's fragile. And so it falls apartt in other words, we will never have a better system, as far as i can tell, than science for figuring out what's true and what is possible. I guess it's not hard to make an argument for why that those two things go together, cap and fragility. But what are we to do about it going forward?
