The idea is that if one tree is attacked and it's connect by an insect and it's connected by a micro isle network to another tree that it can sort of warn the other tree. And then the other tree can start to put up some chemical defenses early, but you know, the empty before the insects attack it. The theory has a stronger scientific basis, but it has a good moral to it.
