The Book of Psalms Is God's Gift for Inculcating Hope
Even the shape of the psaltar is an exercise in hope. Reinforcing for israel in nearly every psalm, the conviction that away will certainly act for the sake of his people. In so doing, these prayers of hope lift our eyes in every conceivable circumstance to the god who has already secured a future for us. If we look out at the landscape of modern christianity and find there a void of biblically rooted hope,. it may very well be the case that this hopelessness is due in no small part to psalmlessness.
