The Importance of Taking Charge of Your Mindset
When I was 17 years old, I lost my dad to a brain tumour. He never got to see me ever win an Olympic medal or go down the pub for like a pint when I turned 18. And I threw myself into diving more than I ever had before because I felt like I had to do something in his memory. When they died it was like okay now I actually don't have to do this anymore if I don't want. But I didn't want to be on the stage. So at 22, oh I realized that now at 22, all of my friends were already well on the way and almost graduating from whatever it is they were going to do with their life.
