The trial lasted just a few days, because the evidence was really just Luis and Lisa's word against the prominent Dr. Bayless. Judge decided that the evidence was inconclusive and awarded 2,000 pounds for defamation. That is about $300,000 in today's money. It made ways when the general public got wind of it.
