The Influence of Jean on the Ferrari Team
Ferrari team principal Jean Magnay was very decisive in acting on things to keep the team running smoothly. If he could see that there was a friction in the team, he would either intervene to put it right or pull them out of the fray. He's also someone who you could be pretty sure if it was half nine at night and you were still working in the wind tunnel or whatever, he'd be around at some point that night. It was a classic case of management by walking about rather than that he knew what wind tunnel guys were up to or anything. But he made a big effort to make sure that the team was rolling along nicely.
