There's almost a focusing on here are the handful of bad actors, but almost an assumption that what we have now is the default. And it's not the product of this long process of economic growth powered by markets. The level of wealth and income that you see in the US and in other sort of similar Western countries is phenomenal. Only really commercial societies have made those things consistently accessible to ordinary members of the public.
