The Equal Rights Amendment Is an Important Symbol
The e r a didn't get a pa ratified in the seventies, so we didn't have ane r a. And what has been the result? All these fights, the parade of horribles, so to speak, ended up in the courts anyway. We're the only industrialized country that does not have an express and equal rights amendment in our constitution. I'd like to think that when my son and daughter open up the constitution and read it, you know, they can see sex equality as a value along the lines of other industrialized countries around the world.
