The Age of Pleasure by Janelle Monae

The Age of Pleasure is inspired by her appreciating these parties that she's been throwing since essentially lockdown began in 2020. Janelle wraps so much more on this album than I think she has in the past, says singer-songwriter Tessa Thompson. The Black Diaspora is so deeply connected now in a way that being a first generation American of Sierra Leone descent that I did not experience as a younger person. She said the album is made that way because it reflects the people that she spends her time with.
