Canadian Union and Uber to Work Together?

Ride sharing giant Ober has struck a deal with canada's largest services sector union to represent the ride hailing company's 100 thousand drivers and delivery workers. In Canada, ober drivers and couriers are considered independent contractors because they can decide when, where and how often they work. As independent contractors, drivers aren't entitled to vacation pay or other benefits reserved for employees and are unable to unionize. uber said the agreement will insure drivers and courier can receive union representation if they ever run into disputes with Uber.
