The Rise and Fall of Khaled Ibn Walib

Abu Bakr was trying to retake central Arabia and create a safe zone around Medina. In the nearest rebel to Medina was actually one of these false prophets, a man named Tuleha al-Assadi. When Khaled arrived however 1500 of the rebel tribes, 1500 men from various rebel tribes, they turned against Tuleha and actually joined Khaled. So right then and there off the bat Khaled ibn Walib had a fairly large force increased even more by some of the rebels changing their minds and joining his side.
