The most modern noise I can think of is a podcast noise, particularly from NPR style presenters. It's the who to thunk it noise, but with an intellectual sheen. And conversation with someone wouldn't be in a monologue - that's a useful noise. That's an affirmation, but it also has a challenge. Yeah, that's quite natural to me. So hear what you're saying. But I haven't heard that. Huh. Let me see. Oh. Uh-huh. What? Why am I making such a big fuss about this? You don't have to make any noises at all if you just say 'oh' and then go on your way
