The art became commerce and the joy and creativity was buried by the commerce. People would come up to my booth at an art show and say, $200. I could get that at Walmart for 20. The best advice I ever got for my jewelry business was a fellow jeweler who said double your prices. And I stopped going to the open shows and selling more to galleries where the people knew to appreciate artists for what they are creating.
