I'm no part of the gay comedy scene and it's not they just have no interest in me. I don't have a huge interest in them, but it's an insular scene. It's spun off from the alt scene. In the queer comedy scene in New York, there's a little bit of talent whereas in the alternative comedy scene, there's no talent. But there's something going on now where people see that the route to success is to brand themselves as somebody with the right opinions or what we do is hate speech. They can't say that I'm not funnier than I can't do well in Brooklyn because I work those rooms.
