Deep Learning Is a Good Tool for Artificial Intelligence
Deep learning is just one tool to take us towards powerful, general artificial intelligence. Only humans can acquire the kind of rich culture that we have because we have language. A lot of animals can do perceptual classification and navigate their worlds pretty nicely. And so, like it's going to solve everything, is like thinking that a chimpanzee m is going to be able to write shakespeare. It's not really going to happen even with all the random typing.
