The Magic of a Session

When you're in the middle of it all, I get a sense that there's a... that's the session. A lot of people haven't played together before. They're getting to know each other musically. It's ad lib. You're going down different paths. There was a very good chap called Danny Kail, who's sadly passed away, but he was brilliant at bringing out musicians in a session and saying, right, you shut up for a while and you sing. He would just create this wonderful sort of stress and release and wonderful feelings.
