Thad: The way it wild set up its thematic question, in that it inevitably had to solve it in some way or another. And in this case, it did resolve it by giving some happy, sad affirmation. It's not a big issue like thas other movies strike the dark night does the same - for example, t when you have the ending with the joker on the boat. But i'm not exactly sure why i was more bothered by it in whiplash, or slightly more bothered by tin whiplash,. but maybe because it was so well on its way to showing the real implications of the cost of greatness and i was hoping for a little bit more of
