The size of a putter primarily is a way to change alignment. Bigger putters have more room to change the lines or disks like the tubeall. Mallet putters lend themselves well to having kind of bold alinment lines on it, going from face pretty far back. Smaller blade style putters are harder to get those really bold linment lines on them.
