Chaucer a European Life by Marian Turner
I'm reading Chaucer a European Life by Marian Turner. She was speaking at the Haye Festival and I thought she was brilliant. It's about how much he travelled in Europe that he spoke of the languages. He very much understood himself as being part of something bigger than London. So there's a lot of just straightforward wisdom and kindness there you know in a world where there isn't very much wisdom and kindness. Do you have a favourite novelist? Alice Smith or Jam Morris is really out of fashion now.
