Teaching Second Languages in Schools Is a Powerful Thing

When students language backgrounds are not valued and promoted then their identities can become infested with shame. To reject a child's language is essentially to reject that child so we need to keep in mind that when a child is enrolled at our school then the whole child must be accepted culturally and linguistically. Each aspect of that child's identity should be nurtured and allowed to flourish to its full potential.
