Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander Rupert Gould included in his book an artist's impression based on what the Spicers reported. They did see a long undulating neck and there is no tail or feet in the drawing since they didn't see any. But as Gould says, the image he drew from the Spicer account does look rather like a huge snail with a long neck or at least a big slug or something.
