The Importance of Slowing Down
As the group floated deeper into Boquias Canyon, the idea of political borders began to disappear. On both sides of the border, they explored side canyons where tributary creeks called aroyos cascaded into the main canyon. Wild burrows roamed at the shores and soft shell turtles could be seen on the banks of the river. The crew freely slept onBoth sides of the river, crossing back and forth between the United States and Mexico with little thought.
