Irrational Magic - What Kind of Wizardry Do You Have?

Rational is hard rational and very rule-based, very logic-based. Hard irrational is Lord of the Rings magics where we don't know what it can do beyond what we have been explicitly shown. The example I like to give of that is Marvel, because each hero has fairly rational powers. But for the most part, we see what he can do, and we can extrapolate and predict and understand. Lovecraftian horror is about the biggest extreme towards irrational magic that you can get. It's so incomprehensible that even just seeing it breaks your mind. So a lot of horror and a lot of your monster films are going to sit in the soft irrational.
