Napier Bell is an amusing rack on tour, and his volumes of autobiography are enjoyable reads. But one gets the feeling that he will not tell the truth if a lie seems more entertaining,. The group chose him because of his promotion of a record he produced for a duo called Diane Ferraz and Nikki Scott. As Ferraz was black and Scott White, Napier Bell sent photos of them to every DJ and producer in the country. When they weren't booked on TV shows or playlisted on the radio, he would accuse the DJs and producers of racism and threaten to go to the newspapers about it.
