The Rise and Fall of Spiritism in Silicon Valley
After World War I, some of the earliest movements toward post-modernity show up during that period. spiritism wasn't something new that had been around for a while. It actually flourished in America in the late 19th century along with new thought,. which is sort of proto new agey stuff. These things had been around, but they become much bigger in the wake of the dissatisfaction or despair with where modernity brought them with the war.
