I do think that there can very well be artificial things, which we would not classify as alive. Now, do we classify them as having intelligence? If you have a computer that can play tic-tac-toe and will always win, is that having intelligence? Who cares? It's an ability,. The computer I wouldn't classify as alive just because it could win in tic-Tac-toe. Let's not be tricked into thinking these words have meanings even before we start thinking about them. So there's a lot going on here.
