The Hermitage Fund, a Russian Investment Fund
In 1989, when the Berlin Wall came down, Magnitsky decided to become a capitalist. He set up an investment fund and invested in big Russian companies that were stealing money on an industrial scale. In 2005, he was arrested at the border as he was coming into the country from a trip abroad. Since then, he's spent 13 years going after the people who killed his lawyer Sergei Magnitsky. His efforts have resulted in legislation called the Magnitsky Act.
