The state of texas has shifted enforcement fromo the way a crime works. This is basically handing over enforcement civilly to everybody else, except people who normally enforce criminal laws. And it does so by incentivizing these civil suits. If you sue and win, let's say you sue an abortion services provider, you sue someone who helped a woman tain an abortion,. You get to collect a minimum of ten thousand dollars and attorney's fees for each abortion. But bizarrely, under the law, if you bring that lawsuit and lose, nothing happens to you. There's not mearly a penalty or anythingo, my god.
