The Story Telling Tradition of the Shanakee

This week's padcastins is inspired by the re invigorated and hopeful feeling that's that mass act of generosity as has given me. So this week i'm speaking to a man called eddy lenehan, who is a shanake. A shanike is a story teller within the irish oral tradition. And after the brits successfully managed to eradicate with e gaelic culture, shankaha, shanakes ill existed. Eddy has spent many years collecting these stories from, as he says himself, older people. He collects older stories. It's ours, lads. We punge far above our wegt in the world of english
