Selling at a Loss, Is That a Good Idea?
Selling at a loss really only refers to selling down to cash. If you're converting one long term asset for another, we tend to call it a switch rather than a loss or a gain. It's just admin. You know, if you're selling in a certain market condition and rebaying a different fund within that same market condition, they both generally react the same way. So if the goal of investing is to make money in the long term, moving it around a bit in the short term shouldn't really matter that much.
