River Work in the Grand Canyon

i've never taken my own father, mother or brother down the grand canyon. My dad used to talk about haves with wistful words. He hasn't visited that place since childhood,. when he hiked to havasou falls with his boy scout troop. The water in havasoo creek reminds me of the color of those turquoise humming birds. i feel immense gratitude for my oblique and inherited kinship to the arizona desert. At times i feel like a stranger here, an interloper from northern latitudes. An other times, i am certain this place is one of my homes.
